Teach a Class or Program with Tahoe City Public Utility District Parks and Recreation

Becoming a Contractor

Tahoe City Public Utility District Parks and Recreation works with Contractors to offer a variety of classes and programs for youth and adults of all ages and interests. Some examples of recreational programs include fitness, enrichment, camps, music, art, dance, sports, and technology.

General Information

Fee Share: TCPUD Parks and Recreation shares a portion of the program fees collected from registered participants.

How to Propose a Class or Program with TCPUD Parks and Recreation: Contractors who are interested in teaching a class or program must first complete a Proposal to Teach form.  

Forms are accepted anytime. Please note, in order to be included in the Activity Guide, forms must be submitted and approved by: 

• For a Fall/Winter class or program – by August 15 (for classes or programs held between September through May)
• For a Spring/Summer class or program – by March 15 (for classes or programs held between May through September)

Benefits of Teaching a Class or Program

Participant Registration: As a Contractor, you have the option to handle participant payment and registration, or allow this to be handled by TCPUD Parks and Recreation.

Exposure: Contractor classes and programs are included in the TCPUD Parks and Recreation Activity Guide, distributed two times per year (Summer and Fall/Winter). Contractor classes and programs are also included on the TCPUD website in the Recreation Department section: www.tcpud.org Other opportunities for exposure include flyers (electronic and/or hard copy) and TCPUD Parks and Recreation social media posts via Instagram and Facebook.

Support: TCPUD Parks and Recreation staff support Contractors to facilitate classes and programs.

Contractor Requirements

The following is a list of requirements for TCPUD Parks and Recreation Contractors. Requirements are submitted after Contractor class or program has been approved.

1. Department of Justice Live Scan Criminal Background Clearance for all individuals working or volunteering with any participant younger than 18 Fingerprint Information (Livescan) | Placer County, CA
2. IRS Form W-9 Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification Form W-9 (Rev. October 2018) (irs.gov)
3. Placer County Business License – click here for more information
4. Insurance – Commercial, General Liability, Auto and Workers Compensation (as required by CA Law)
