Trails & Paths

The paved trails are open for a variety of recreational uses. Bicyclists, joggers, strollers, anglers, and even horses may be found along the way. Users are urged to be tolerant and respectful of everyone's mutual right to use the trails. Motor vehicles are strictly prohibited except for authorized maintenance. Watch for maintenance workers and equipment.

Rules of the Road
Please help to increase everyone's enjoyment of the trails by observing the Rules of the Road. For information on trail locations or for a trail map call 530-583-3440, ext 10.

  • Use the trails at your own risk.
  • Beware of sand, rocks, pine needles or cones and other debris.
  • Parking for use of the trails is available at the 64-Acres Park located 1/4 mile south of the "Y" in Tahoe City.
  • Bicyclist must obey all traffic laws and adhere to trail signs.
  • Ride to the right, walk to the left.
  • Please do not litter.
  • Always lock your bike.
  • Always notify others on the trail that you are about to overtake from behind with a loud, "on your left".
  • Don't forget your bicycle helmet.

The bike trails are officially closed for the winter season and will re-open in the spring once the snowpack has melted.
